An Arabic translation is required, and Saudi authorities generally expect it to be certified in the Kingdom rather than in Switzerland. As with China, have the apostille itself translated along with the document — a Saudi office reading only the Swiss text will not know what the certificate says.
Saudi Arabia acceded to the Apostille Convention with effect from 7 December 2022. The consular chain through the Saudi embassy is no longer required for Swiss documents. Some employers and ministries continued asking for the old attestation during the transition — if yours does, the Convention still applies, but obtaining written confirmation of what they want saves an argument later.
